East Inter District Championships @ Kirkcaldy Well Done Edinburgh Synchro

Despite the freezing cold temperatures at Kirkcaldy Swimming Pool (due to boiler failure) Edinburgh Synchro gave a great performance.

The girls won gold in the team event and then they won the overall trophy, which was the Shell trophy, for the Skill/Rec 1&2 event. The girls who were in the team were Megan Wimberley, Eilidh Mackay, Ciara Gallacher, Jennifer Bannon, Jade Muirhead, Nicole Urquhart, Zoe Urquhart, Cameron Oliver and Katriona Tweedie.

Skills Assessment Results – Bo’ness

Edinburgh Synchro was at the Skills Assessment day on Sunday 3rd March at Bo’ness. Well done to the following swimmers who’s hard work has paid off and they have achieved their new skill level.

Congratulations to Jennifer Bannon

A great turnout for today’s AGM of Edinburgh Synchro. Thanks to all the parents and volunteers who came along to support the club.

Cath Flemming is standing down as the clubs President to allow her to focus on her new role of President of East of Scotland Swimming Association. The Club’s Vice President Graham Turner has will be taking on the role of President for the next year. A big thank you to Cath from all the swimmers and parents for the work she has done as President. Cath will still be helping out in her duel role as synchro coach for Edinburgh Synchro.

Jennifer Bannon was recognised for her efforts at Edinburgh Synchro this year when she was awarded to Samantha Ritchie Trophy for the best overall improvement . Well done Jennifer.

Edinburgh Synchro – Come and Try Sessions

Do you enjoy dancing, gymnastic, diving, swimming and music?

If you do we would like to welcome you along to Edinburgh Synchro’s free “Come and Try” session being held at the Royal Commonwealth Swimming Pool on Sunday 20th January 2013.

Synchro is for all ages and to help us organise the sessions we are splitting the sessions

Swimmers up to the age of 18 years the session will be 4-4.45pm

Swimmers 18 years and over 5-5.45pm

All you need is your swimming costume, towel and plenty of enthusiasm.

If you are interested in coming along we need you to register first otherwise you wont be able to come along. Use the contact form on the website to register.

This will be held in the diving pool so you will have to be confident in deep water.

Well Done Edinburgh Synchro @ East Clubs Novice Comp

Sunday 9th December saw novice Synchro swimmers from the Edinburgh, Fife and Grangemouth Clubs competing against each other at the Royal Commonwealth Swimming Pool. Judging was done by the older Swimmers and a fun day was had by all.

ASA Age group Synchro Championships

ASA Age group Synchro Championships, Gloucester 1st and 2nd Dec 2012.

Huge Congratulations to Edie Turner, who, in her first year of being able to compete individually at these Championships in the figure section was placed 24th out of 61 swimmers. They select the first 12 soloists and she was the 13th soloist. She’s gutted at this, as she is a performer. Roll on 2013

Edinburgh Synchro is Going to Club La Santa

Club La Santa

Edinburgh Synchro is pleased to announce it will be having a weeks training camp at the world renowned Club La Santa in Lanzarote.

We have booked 12 places for a stay at the camp between Friday 11th to Friday 18th October 2013.

We plan to have 2 swimming sessions (1 at least a 2 hour slot), a cycle/ run daily along with pilates/ body pump/ circuit training classes daily.  Swimmers are there to work and enjoy and be amongst other athletes

Margo and Cath are going/ one as Coach and one as Team manager.

Enjoy a 360 view of the various  sections of this massive sports resort which includes an Olympic sized swimming pool.
