Competitions

Edinburgh Artistic Swimming takes part in various competitions at local and national level throughout the year. Coaches will advise swimmers when they will be competing.
The main Scottish competitions are:
Scottish Figure Competition – Swimmers will compete at age group figures (up to age 19) and technical teams, duets and solos (for those aged 15 and above).
Scottish Clubs Championships – Scottish Clubs compete against each other. There are no entry requirements for this competition and we try to include as many swimmers as we can in teams.
Scottish National Age Groups and Open – Swimmers need to have achieved a certain level of skill depending on their age to compete in the Age Group competition.
Artistic Swimming for All – For swimmers who have not yet passed a grade, or who passed Grade 1 recently. Includes a recreational combination team section.
There are also English competitions that some teams attend each year.
The club also holds its own figures competition for everyone in the club.
The club’s competition fee policy is on the club governance page.
All swimmers representing the club at competition must have club kit. Club kit involves a club swimming cap, club costume, club drifit top, plain black shorts, plain black costume, plain white swimming cap, nose clip and goggles. Club hooded tops may also be purchased from the club. Caps and nose clips are available from the club most training sessions. The rest of the kit is ordered twice a year.
Information on figures and routines, and how they are marked are on our grades page.
The club’s selection process is on the club governance page.
