We had another great Club Figure Competition, with almost all members of the club competing. We are also very grateful to all our volunteers from the club who took up roles as clerks, scorers and Team Managers, and to our guest judges, Irene and Linda, for helping ensure another successful event.

Following the change in the synchro calendar the Swim England NAGs 2019 were held just over three months after the 2018 competition. In 2018 Edinburgh swimmers were part of a Synchro Caledonia team that competed. This year Synchro Caledonia is focused on skills days so Edinburgh took a team to the competition in Manchester instead.

Edinburgh Synchro sent 18 swimmers to the first Figure grade assessment day of 2019 and they all performed really well. At the AGM it was announced that Paul Bannon was to be made a Life Member of the club for his tireless work over the last ten years. Claire caught up with Paul on Wednesday to present him with a quaich to commemorate the event. Congratulations Paul and thank you for all you have done

It was the second Edinburgh Synchro Awards Night and Disco on Friday 18 January. Almost all the club came along and it was a wonderful night. The raffle was drawn and there was an amazing array of prizes. In all £196 was raised for the club.

Edinburgh Synchro put on a Christmas display on Sunday to end a great year of synchro. The club has had success in and out of the water this year and would like to thank all the volunteers, parents and swimmers, who have helped make it what it is today. We wish you all a Happy

The final competition of the year saw almost all of the swimmers from the club travel to Bellshill for a busy afternoon of routines. There are only four events, with all abilities in each one, but the points system means that every routine counts towards the overall trophy.

Our 13-15 team put together an eight minute show for the At Your Leisure end of festival pool party. They worked hard developing the routine and organising the party. It was a great event. The pool was lit with underwater lights and disco uplighters for the display – a bit of a change from a

Amy recently moved to Edinburgh to do a masters and decided to restart her synchro career after a three year break. After only a month of training she entered the Swim England Masters in Rugby and performed brilliantly. She won the 18-24 solo category with a score of 137. Congratulations to her.

The club had another great weekend at the Scottish National Age Groups and Championships. This year the team was even bigger, with 23 swimmers competing in the age groups and eight in the recreational section.
